William H. Edmonson, Sr. entered the Tampa Bay market in 1962 specializing in air conditioning services. In 1977 he joined with a local electrical company offering both air conditioning and electrical services. Just two years later, Bill sold the air conditioning portion of the business and concentrated soley on electrical contracting to form the foundation of which grew to become Edmonson Electric, Inc. He built his business reputation with quality products and excellent service, combined with a determined sales effort. As the business grew and became more specialized in electrical contracting, Bill teamed up with his family to manage the daily operations. Terry, Kevin, Michele and Bill, Jr. embraced the family business.

As the residential development and building industry exploded, so did the need for the electrical contracting services. Today Edmonson Electric has emerged as one of the largest residential electrical contractors in the Tampa Bay area and is still expanding. In 2004, they launched Edmonson Power Systems, a division of Edmonson Electric offering back up generators and power sources. A satellite office will be opening soon in Hernando County which will also serve Citrus County.
